"Cascade" was inspired by the great cascade at Chatsworth. It consists of a felt background which has all the colours of the water, and a piece of knitted handspun silk. The pattern used is Travelling Vine and the swirling movement of the stitich has been enhanced by the use of different needle sizes, from 3mm to 6mm. The piece formed the cover of The Journal, published by the Association of Guilds of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers in Spring 2005. I was then invited to submit it for inclusion in the Association's 50th anniversary Exhibition at the 2005 Knitting and Stitching Show.
